Welcome to my species profile page. Here you will find profiles of most of my major species that appear both in my fan fiction and original fiction.

Links to profiles will be provided in this first post of the topic so you will not have to scroll down or browse too many pages to locate a topic you wish to read.

Also I allow comments on the profiles or questions regarding the various species in this topic. But off topic discussions should be directed into the character's interaction threat.

Profiles may or may not appear in alphabetical order. I have also added feet measurement in brackets behind the metric measurements. They are not 100% accurate but close enough and should give those not used to the metric system a basic idea of height.

All profiles in this topic unless otherwise noted are © Hermann Gunnar Sigurdsson (Askre)

Rytonas

Agras, Egar, Errkas, Gemta, Hokkar,

Jolkar, Kolar Landans, Otanis, Rampas,

Rob, Ruoar, Rymskas, Ryregs, Skrimar,

Tymar, Ugregs, Ukar, Umskas Ymskas,

Additional note on the Rytona races profiles: The population percentage numbers given are from the general modern population count from the Rytona Alliance, they take into account the large human population that lives among them. Thus for the numbers to add up, you have to add to the human population in as well which is 0,83% of the entire Rytona Alliance population.

Rytonas.

Groups: Rytonas are in actuality twenty different species under one government calling themselves Rytonas. They often consider each individual species a race, using Rytonas as their species as well as a nation name.

Many of the Rytona races fall into subgroups.

The races are as following:

Rakta Rytonas:

Agras: Cat-like humanoids.

Egar: Leopard-like humanoids

Hokkar: Lion-like humanoids

Jolkar: Tiger-like humanoids.

Kolar: Cheetah-like humanoids.

Morta Rytonas:

Gemta: Gazelle-like humanoids

Rampas: Reindeer/deer-like humanoids.

Ruoar: Moose-like humanoids

Ukar: Ox-like humanoids

Kerra Rytonas:

Rob: Bearish humanoids

Rymskas: Wolfish humanoids

Ryregs: Red-fox-like humanoid

Tymar: Doggish humanoid

Ugregs: Arctic fox-like humanoids

Umskas: Hyena-like humanoids

Ymskas: Jackal-like humanoids.

Unclassified Rytonas. In other words these particular races don’t belong to any particular group.

Errkas: Rabbit-like humanoids

Landans: Human like Rytonas

Otanis: Horse-like humanoids

Skrimar: Sheep-like humanoids.

Language: All Rytonas speak the joint language of Rytonas.

Height: Average height varies between individual races. Some Rytonas are fairly small while others are gigantic. See profiles for the individual race.

Physical look: As well with the height, each individual race looks different. Physical look of each individual race will be told in their profiles.

Abilities: Depends on each individual race.

General Info: Generally speaking, Rytonas are considered a rather friendly species towards outsiders and very welcoming. They are though not easily forgiving race and if something is done to them, the ones responsible will have hard time earning back their trust.

Rytonas though welcoming, expect guests and visitors to be friendly in turn. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is prevalent saying among them. Also prejudices and racism is frowned on heavily among them, the term is called Ujoka and is actually a punishable crime to commit in a Rytona community. This stems from Rytonas being already 20 different races living together, racism would just not work among them.

Another subject frowned on by Rytonas is their physical look. From a Rytona point of view, the animals they happen to resemble do not resemble them at all. At most a Rytona will relent saying the animal resembles them. It is in fact insulting to call say a rymska a wolf, or an otani a horse. Animal jokes are also not met with amusement. First time visitors to Rytonas are generally warned about this, it is often forgiven the first time and if it is an obvious case of a slip of the tongue, but at other times it’s preferred no such references are made.

This of course does pose a problem for humans especially, since the best way for them to describe the many Rytona races are by using the animal references. Thus the Rytonas have allowed the use of the term animaloid on them, indicating that they bare resemblance to the animals but are not these animals nor related to them.

Thus is passable to call a rymska a wolfoid and an otani a horseoid for example. Also escapable is wolf-like and horse-like. But that’s not as often used.

Because the Rytonas are twenty different races combined under one government, their culture is very diverse and it would take too long to count it all up.

Rytonas are by no means technophobes even though they seem to live their lives in a rather low technological world. They just use only what they think is necessary. In medical equipment they are considered one of the most advanced races, while in recreation, they tend to go more with lower technology, the television for example never caught on in Rytonas.

Also one might think they would be easily conquered, as they only seem to display the use of ancient weapons like swords and bows. But truthfully, the Rytonas have the one of the most powerful land based army throughout several dimensions. With twenty different races, comes twenty different strategies and fighting techniques. Rytonas have in fact beaten highly advanced species in warfare. Truthfully, Rytonas have advanced weaponry, but during time of peace it is not utilized.

It is not really known exactly when and how the Rytonas came to be. They used to be divided, living each their own lives on the various climates throughout their world. They didn’t unify until after the varjans (a highly advanced race) invaded their world and tried to take it over. The Rytonas resisted heavily and the varjans realized they wouldn’t be able to control this world with out simply committing genocide, something their government was not prepared to do. Thus the Rytonas united managed to drive the varjans back, portraying how formidable force the species is when all work together.

The Rytonas officially united over six hundred thousand years ago, and have been under a single government ever since. Their government is democratic in nature. They have a parliament, a representation committee and then their four national leaders, called Gjarke Gerio, incorrectly once translated as Magic Masters, but has been allowed as translation over their title.

The Rytonas are also member nation of the IDA (Interdimensional Alliance). They are in diplomatic contact with many dimensions and are quite active members, often offering security officers, any military aid needed and medical needs. Rytonas have always prided themselves of being helpful, especially towards those they consider their friends and allies.

Agras

Groups: Agras are part of the sub-group Rakta, which is Rytonas for ‘calm’. The Rakta rytonas are often considered the calmest of the Rytonas.

Language: All agras speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 60 centimeters (5’3’’). Female average: 1 meter 55 centimeters (5’1’’)

Physical look: Agras are catoid humanoids with five fingers and five toes with nails not claws, their head shapes similarly to a Siamese cat. They have brown fur covering their entire body, the brown color darkens as the agra gets older. Despite their cat like appearance, their eyes are human looking and blue. They have also short stubby tail.

Agras are average built compared to many rytonas, neither too thick nor too thin. They are omnivorous and because of that their teeth set is very similar to ours.

Abilities: Agras are generally not the strongest Rytonas, they are weaker than an average healthy human. Their calm and stoic mannerism has enabled them though to be great on the medical field, being able to patiently handle even the most stressed patient.

Agras are also extremely adaptable and probably the Rytona race that has thrived the best with all the 20 Rytona races joining together under one government. They can pretty much adapt themselves to any situation over a short period of time, though of course that can depend on any given individual.

General Info: Agras are not the most numerous Rytonas, they are just under 2.5% of the whole population. Also due to their calm mannerism, they tend to take their free time very easy and often just stay at home relaxing. Rytonas have the saying “You’re as relaxed as an agra.”

Agras are though not calm and stoic all their life. Generally in their youth, they actually tend to be much more energetic and even hyper almost, loving life and to have a whole lot of fun. This period is generally associated with the age range of 16-25, though younger agras are as well very active.

But as the agra gets older he or she becomes more stoic and by the age of 30 it’s actually hard to upset one.

They are often referred to as the best dancers among Rytonas, it’s said that they don’t just dance, they pretty much float on the floor. It’s not uncommon that dance groups have a large number of agras.

Agras are semi social; they are not as extremely social like rymskas but at least like company and interact in general very well with other Rytonas. Also strangely enough, though considered Ratka rytonas, they almost seem to prefer the company of Kerra Rytonas who, like them, are the most social Rytonas. This has led to speculations that agras actually are Kerra Rytona. Agras themselves wouldn’t care either way, though most of them think it’s more correct that they are Rakta Rytonas, but are ones most related to the Kerra group.

Culturally speaking though the agras seem almost lacking, they apparently have assimilated themselves so well into the Rytona nation that any specific agra traditions have pretty much become extinct.

Egar

Groups: Egar are part of the sub-group Rakta

Language: All egar speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 80 centimeters (5’9’’). Female average: 1 meter 65 centimeters (5’4’’)

Physical look: Leopard like humanoids with yellowish colored fur. Males and females tend to be similar in basic appearance except the women have more spots. It’s very common for males to have no spots at all. They are one of the few Rytonas not to have tails.

Abilities: Egar are rather average type Rytonas. Their strength is similar to that of humans although they are considered a more agile and flexible race. They are though quiet and calm, in very similar manner and the agras.

General Info: Egar form about 2,46% of the entire Rytona population. They have the distinguish thing that they are so far the only Rytona race to not practice interracial marriages. It’s very rare for an egar to marry a non-egar.

Egar also rival the umskas about being private. They tend to shy away from jobs that put them too much in public. They are though more social than they appear, but they are so far the only Rytonas who prefer completely Rytona company and no outsiders. They will not be rude or curt to other species, but they will generally avoid contact.

Due to this the egar have the unfair reputation in some worlds of being rude and even borderline speciesists. But egar have denyed that and so do all the other Rytona races, who honor their choice of keeping more to themselves.

Errkas

Groups: Errkas with, landans, skrimar and otanis do not belong to any specific sub-group. But they are distantly related to the other Rytonas.

Language: All errkas speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 40 centimeters (4’6’’). Female average: 1 meter 45 centimeters (4’7’’)

Physical look: Rabbit like humanoids with brownish fur covering their bodies. They are tailless and join the ranks of the few Rytonas with no tail. The females tend to stand taller than the males, both sexes have fairly short rabbit like ears.

Abilities: Speed is definitely a trade applied to the errkas, both physically and vocally. Errkas tend to be always on the move, have to be doing something and when they speak they literally talk mile a quarter of a second. Even other Rytonas often have slight difficulties talking with errkas.

But despite their small size and agility, they are no nervous lagomorphs. They are quite fierce in battle if necessary. Errkas have a reputation of having bigger courage than their stature would suggest.

Also errkas seem to possess almost from birth a very keen business like mind. They always seem to understand more quickly the various functions that needs to be made profit on things.

General Info: Even tough they are the second least populous race, being only 0,84% of the entire population. They are not unseen or unheard of. When people travel to Rytonas it’s almost 90% likely that the person running the tourist trap store is an errka.

This business like attitude is often said come from the days before the Rytona alliance. The errkas were then the only second, after the otanis, to start trading between tribes. This would often lead to caravans of errkas meeting in certain places to do trading between themselves. It’s said the rabbitoids adapted quite well to the Rytona Alliance because it meant simply more customers.

But business aside, errkas are quite social and enjoy very much to meet other people. It’s just question if the other people will have the patience to listen to the speedy talk. They often come out as eager to please, even when not discussing business, but without being too overbearing with it.

Gemtas

Groups: Gemtas belong to the Morta Rytona sub-group. Morta means insect, even though the Rytonas in that group are not. But insects are heavily on their diet.

Language: All gemtas speak Rytonas

Height: Males average: 1 meter 70 centimeters (5’6’’). Female average: 1 meter 60 centimeters (6’3’’)

Physical look: Gemtas carry a gazelle like humanoid appearance, with orange/brown reddish fur color and white stomach. Like most Morta Rytonas, they have antlers, long black with no branches. One would actually think they were horns, but they are not.

They have four fingers on each hand and all the fingers are enveloped in the same material and a hoof is made of, making their fingers hard and almost claw like. Their feet are exactly like split hooves.

All gemtas are thinly looking; they are in fact the thinnest Rytonas.

Abilities: Stronger than they look, but still not on par with bigger Rytona species. But like all Morta Rytonas, they can generate a strange alien sounding for non-Rytonas, hiss. Yet while the other three can do it anytime they want, gemtas only generate it when startled, possibly meant to serve as a defense against predators once.

General Info: The gemtas are a really rare part of the whole Rytona population. They are under 1% of the entire species. Due to that, many don’t even know they exist unless they are actively studying Rytonas, live for long enough among Rytonas, or just happen to stumble up on a gemta.

They are generally shy and reclusive, avoiding too much attention and they are the only Rytona race to have ever rejected a potential position as Magic Masters. But gemtas are loyal to those they consider friends and will often go great lengths to help them if necessary.

Like all the Morta Rytonas, gemtas are insectivores and their main diet is indeed bugs and grubs. They vary it though and can add meat and certain vegetables to it, but fruit generally makes them ill.

Like their distant relatives the rampas, they have a tradition for antler fencing. Though unlike rampas, the rules are much simpler and both sexes can participate since both have antlers. Unlike their cousins the rampas, the gemtas don’t take it as seriously and now days just consider it a chance for some friend-bonding or workout.

Hokkar

Groups: Hokka are part of the sub-group Rakta

Language: All hokka speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 90 centimeters (6’3’’). Female average: 1 meter 85 centimeters (6’1’’)

Physical look: Broad lion like humanoids with golden brown fur color. The males have a lion like mane that goes around most of the head except under their muzzle. It stops right under their cheeks. The females have no mane but normal hair that they grow usually long and then tie up in several strands of tiny braids.

Abilities: With the tymar, rob, landands ruoars and the otanis, the hokka are with the physically strongest Rytonas. Despite their broad built they are fairly agile and light footed.

But like so many Rakta Rytonas, they are rather calm and easy going race. With a bit of a formal attitude on occasion.

General Info: Hokka are 3,86% of the entire Rytona population. They are fairly commonly seen, mostly thanks to being on the taller side among the Rytonas. They are also somewhat social and most quite enjoy meeting new people.

Hokka are generally raised to be formal and polite. This has often made them quite popular as politicians or even as diplomats. They are not easy to anger, much like their cousins the agras, and do quite well under stress.

Jolkar

Groups: Jolkar are part of the sub-group Rakta

Language: All jolkar speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 80 centimeters (5’9’’). Female average: 1 meter 80 centimeters (5’9’’)

Physical look: Tiger like humanoids with orange/brown fur but no stripes. They are rather average built, both males and females not terribly broad. Much like the skrimar it’s rather hard to distinguish a female jolkar from a male one. They have a short stubby tail similar and agras.

Abilities: In most cases are often considered just orange colored egar with slightly different head shape in this category.

General Info: Although jolkar share many similarities to their cousins the egar, jolkar are far more social and open to others. They are also with the tymar quite common sight in rural areas of Rytonas.

They form 3,75% of the population but as noted above not very unseen sight. They are probably the most social of the Rakta Rytonas, eager and gentle people who are rivaled only by the rymskas in openness.

Due to this nature, it is not uncommon to see jolkar in social jobs. Like childcare, teaching positions and various other works that have anything to do with interaction with others.

Kolar

Groups: Kolar are part of the sub-group Rakta

Language: All kolar speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 85 centimeters (6’1’’). Female average: 1 meter 75 centimeters (5’7’’)

Physical look: Cheetah like humanoids with golden-brown fur. The males are taller but very thinly built similar to rampas and rymskas. The females are smaller but thicker. Like the jolkar and the agras, they only have a short stubby tail.

Abilities: The males are surprisingly strong compared to their thin built. They can almost rival a jolka. But the females are stronger, almost as strong as the rampas. But despite their appearance, the kolar are no speed machines. They are not with the fastest Rytonas.

General Info: Kolar form roughly 2,95% of the Rytona population and are sort of a hit and miss Rytona to encounter. Some might encounter them in one trip but not see a single one in the next one.

This has nothing to do with how social they are. Kolar with the jolkar are fairly social, but they are fairly spread out all around Rytonas. Thanks to their much thinner population, they are thus easier to miss.

Kolar seem far easier going than most Rytonas. Everyone can sit and relax, but the kolar have actually managed to make into an art form. They seem to be able to rest and relax pretty much anywhere, even if there is no seat except hard ground available. “You were sleeping like kolar,” is said about those who seemed to have managed to sleep easy and well.

Landans

Groups: Landans with, otanis, skrimar and errkas do not belong to any specific sub-group. But they are distantly related to the other Rytonas.

Landans have various skin colors much like we humans, but it is not considered sub-groups.

Language: All landans speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 2 meter 15 centimeters (7’0’’). Female average: 1 meter 80 centimeters (5’9’’)

Physical look: Look pretty much just like large and broad humans but usually appear rather neutral or expressionless in appearance. They have various types of skin color much like humans and hair color, ranging from blonde to black.

Abilities: Landans are extremely strong and resilient Rytonas, only otanis are stronger than them. Their legs are often said to be stone hard and a kick from a landan can smash thick concrete wall.

Landans have with the best hand to eye coordination of the Rytonas and such are expert marksmen with throwing weapons. Spears, darts, throwing knives, most landans can from early age throw any of this with deadly accuracy.

General Info: Landans are a reclusive race and solitary. Despite their human looking appearance, they are not exactly related to them and are actually closer relatives of the Morta Rytonas. They are the sixth most populous race, forming 7,33% of the population.

At first appearance for many, landans come out as cold and almost emotionless. You seldom see a smile or even a frown on a landan’s face. And it’s even rarer to see two landans together unless it’s a relative. But they have feelings, just don’t have the same concept about them as humans have.

Thanks to their solitary nature, visitors seldom see that many landans in their travels in Rytonas. They might spot one or one around a settlement, but they usually keep to themselves. Now days though, landans have started to become slightly more social and the most recent Magic Masters, the heads of states of the Rytona Alliance, are all landans. They are all siblings though, since the former Magic Masters, figured that would probably be the best way for four landans to actually function together. This was though a record for the race, as before that you were lucky to get three landans to cooperate with each other.

Like the otanis the landans to hold a special place in Ryona history. With the horse like giants, they resisted the strongest against the varjans. Thanks to their solitary lifestyles, there was usually only one or two landans in each territory. Since they used to mark large territories, they were often impossible to catch. And when a landan attacked it could just as well have been an army of otanis.

Landans refused though for a long time any political appointments, except in the House of Representatives of the Rytona parliament. They along with the gemtas were the only Rytonas to refuse to serve as Magic Masters. That changed though in later years as noted above.

Otanis

Groups: Otanis with, landans, skrimar and errkas do not belong to any specific sub-group. But they are distantly related to the other Rytonas.

Although there are two color types of Otanis, brown and black, they are not considered sub-group within the species.

Language: All otanis speak Rytonas.

Height: Otanis continuously grow as they age, but the average height of both sexes has often been put as 2 meters and 35 centimeters (7’7’’).

Physical look: Large massive horsoid humanoids with either black or brown fur covering their entire body. Both sexes have a horse like mane and tail, though it is common among the males to let the head top grow down towards the eyes. The females tend to go for a shorter cut.

Otanis have what is at first appearance a hoof like hands that seem to be able to split up into claws. This has oddly enough never been a hindering feature for them and they can manipulate things just as easily as if they had an opposable thumb. At closer inspection reveals that the hands can actually split up at will into more parts, almost making it look like a five fingered hand.

Another distinguish feature of the otanis are their jaws, they have two set of them, inner and outer. The outer jaws sit close to their lips inside the mouth and have only four long sharp fangs. The inner jaws are further inside the mouth and sport more teeth intended to rip and chew food.

Abilities: Otanis are the physically strongest Rytonas by far. It is said that an adult Otani can easily handle a varjan his own size. The great strength does come at a prize though, the horseoids are heavy and have to take greater care in their interaction with other races.

They are generally extremely intelligent race, you will often find otanis in the scientific community of Rytonas. They are very curious by nature and being told that “you’re like an observing otani” is considered a great compliment.

General Info: These gargantuan Rytonas are the third most populous race, forming roughly 8,62% of the entire population. Thus with rampas and rymskas, otanis are a very common sight. But their size alone, as they tower over the other races, would be enough to get them noticed.

Despite their deep thundering voices (applies to both sexes), fierce and almost intimidating size, otanis are gentle giants for the most part. They are very social and like company of others.

They are carnivorous by nature but still can eat fruit and vegetables in some amounts. Otanis have often been the shockers in that aspect for humans, when they see those large horse like giants eat meat.

Otanis have a very special place among the Rytonas. They are often considered the ones who made the foundation of what would turn into the Rytona Alliance. They were the first race to form permanent settlements, forming complex communities and do written scientific research, while most of the other races were still living nomadic hunting/gathering lifestyles. It were them who first categorized the other races and discovered the close relations they share.

But otanis were and are no pacifists, when the varjans invaded the Rytonas old homeworld, it were the otanis who resisted the hardest. In fact they with landans were for a long time the only races that could actually keep them away from their territories. It was the otanis and the landans fierce resistance that inspired the other races to step up as well, ending in them expelling the varjans out.

The national hero of the Rytonas is an otani who was named Orrt. He is said to have discovered that the Rytona races were twenty, and noted the similarities that lead to the conclusion they were related. He also fought against the varjans and actually banded several Rytona races who once were enemies together. Displaying how well they can work together and how powerful they are when they do.

Rampas

Groups: Rampas belong to the Morta Rytona sub-group.

Language: All rampas speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 80 centimeters (5’9’’). Female average: 1 meter 75 centimeters (5’7’’)

Physical look: Rampas are debated to be reindeeroid or deeroid, and are generally described as reindeer/deer like humanoids. They have yellowish/brown fur color with a white stomach. Five fingers on each hand that are covered in a hoof like material. They have split hooves for feet as well. Their eyes, much like Hundarians, are completely black.

Only the males carry antlers for life, and rampas have the most complex set of antlers. It constantly grows and adds branches to it and an elder rampa can have a really complex set that intertwines with each other. The females only have two short antlers when pregnant.

Rampas are thin similar to rymskas and generally have the same body built.

Abilities: Do not let the placid look fool you. Rampas are with the fiercest fighters among the Rytonas. Males once reaching puberty come built in with weapons, their antlers and rampas are infamous for using them in battle. The antlers are sharp, with many branches that can easily pierce and impale.

Rampas are strong, not as strong as rymskas, but still stronger than humans. They are also swift and agile, and very resilient. Their skulls and necks have built in dampeners due to the antlers and as such can take pressure easily on their head.

Rampas are the most famous of the Morta Rytonas for their hiss; they can generate it at will and make it sound really powerful.

General Info: The rampas are the second most populous Rytona race and with the rymskas, the most common one you will see. These are social people much like the wolfoids Rytonas and are glad to be in company of others.

They are though bit stricter and conservative regarding certain customs. Rampas for one have it among them to never kiss anyone, unless it is the person they intend to marry. Not even family members are kissed, hugs and patting is the show of family or friend affection among them. Only married or engaged couples kiss.

Rampas are famous in Rytonas for their antler fencing. It’s treated as a major event in every community in Rytonas, with hundreds, or thousands or even millions of spectators. Almost any rampa who has grown a full set of antlers is eligible for antler fencing.

But the complex antlers among rampas are in danger of dying out. Like with many Rytonas, cross-breeding with other Rytona races is very common. And rampas who are half-breeds have much simpler versions of antlers, often with nothing but few branches and in some cases none at all.

Like all Morta Rytonas, the rampas are insectivores and have the sharp teeth to prove it. They generally prefer bugs, worms and snails as most other food simply makes them sick.

Rob

Groups: Rob belong to the Rytona sub-group Kerra

Language: All rob speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 2 meter 10 centimeters (6’9’’). Female average: 2 meter (6’6’’)

Physical look: Tall broad bear like humanoids with thick brown fur covering their entire body. When standing still they almost appear exactly like just a normal bear standing upright. It is when they move you’ll notice their more humanoid features. They are the only Kerra Rytonas not to have any tail at all, and they are the only Rytonas to have actual claws on their fingers and toes.

Males and females are pretty similar, except the women look a slightly more feminine and are smaller. The males are taller and usually have broader bodies.

Abilities: Rob are strong, just about as strong as landans and their claws are razor sharp. This makes them very tough in any combat situations. Their thick fur also shields them better than one would think.

But rob are generally calm and hard to anger, but they are no nonsense and extremely honest. “It’s like trying to fool a rob” is a saying in Rytonas, when something is seemingly impossible.

General Info: Rob are roughly around the middle in population, forming about 4,68% of it. They are more common in the bigger settlements than in the rural areas, they are the least social of the Kerra Rytonas, aside from being the largest of that particular sub-group.

Their no nonsense nature often finds many rob in the duties of guards or some sort of security position. Combined with the fierceness of ymskas, rob make quite an effective security team. But rob are far calmer and would probably more likely escort someone of a premises with a smile and “understanding nodding”. An ymska might leave few bruises and broken bones, if the subject is lucky.

But their calm nature has also thrown several rob into the position of a teacher. Most Rytonas can always at least count up two rob who used to be their teachers in school.

Ruoar

Groups: Ruoar belong to the Morta Rytona sub-group.

Language: All ruoar speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 2 meter 15 centimeters (7’0’’). Female average: 2 meter (7’0’’)

Physical look: Moose like humanoids fairly tall but very thin and gangly and quite commonly walk bit hunched. Both sexes have moose like antlers and like egar and skrimar, it’s hard to tell the sexes apart if not for the different clothing. Like all Morta Rytonas, they have five fingered hands where the fingers are covered in hard hoof like material. And the feet are like the broad split hooves of the moose.

They are though the only Morta Rytonas who are carnivores.

Abilities: Thin maybe, weak no. The ruoar are only rivaled by the rob, landans and otanis. And a tall ruoar male can actually quite easily deal with a male rob. Their huge antlers are also formidable weapons, one they are not shy of using if necessary.

General Info: They are only 1,47% of the entire population and thanks to their almost landan like reclusive nature, they are not a common sight. Many might in fact miss them in similar terms and gemtas. But those who get a chance of meeting a ruoar generally agree that they are rather unique looking Rytonas.

They walk hunched, the moose head with the large antlers does put them quite apart and their thin, tall gangly body doesn’t seem to quite match the head. They walk fairly slow and carefully and don’t seem to react terribly quickly to things.

Non-Rytonas have thus often mistakenly thought that Ruoar are slow and dimwitted. Nothing could be further from the truth, they just simply take life one step at a time, no need to be in a hurry.

Rymskas.

Groups: Rymskas belong to the Rytona sub-group Kerra, which means hunters in Rytonas. This stems from that most of the Rytonas in this group were once nomadic hunters before joining with other Rytonas under one government.

Rymskas themselves also divide into four groups, the more populous gray furred and black furred rymskas and the less visible, white furred and brown furred. Brown fur on rymskas is in fact near extinct.

Though often referred as groups, the rymskas themselves do not really consider the fur color racial representation.

Language: All rymskas speak Rytonas.

Height: Males average: 1 meter 90 centimeters (6’2’’). Female average: 1 meter 75 centimeters (5’7’’)

Physical look: Rymskas are wolfish humanoids with five fingers and five toes much like us with nails not claws. Their facial expression is usually friendly and slightly joyful. They are thinly built though not that much with fur covering their entire body. Wolfish tails used for balance for the bipedal body structure (despite that they are pretty much erect like any human.)

Despite wolfish ears and tail, it completely depends on the individual if he or she can move it. Emotional expression is facial; the wolfish muzzle is not a solid bone thus enabling wider selection of expressions, many very similar to those we portray.

The muzzle also contains a very impressive row of small and very sharp teeth, the fangs on Rymskas are actually hidden and they only have two. These incisors are hidden in the upper gum and can be shot down at will. Originally these teeth connected to venom glands and would spray black oily venom. Today very few rymskas still retain the venom glands.

Gray and white furred rymskas tend have short fur, making it more visible how thin they are. While brown and black furred rymskas have thicker fur, making them look broader. Black furred rymskas are also the only ones to have blue eyes, while the other rymskas all have brown eyes.

Neither sex has any hair of any kind on their hair, only fur, though some females have been known to get some extensions on their head.

Abilities: Rymskas are strong despite their thin built. An average rymska male is five times stronger than a healthy human. Females are similar, though some can be weaker. It is individual based.

Rymskas are extremely agile and quick; they have powerful lungs enabling them to run great distances with out loosing their breath easily. On top of that they can scream very loudly, so loud it’s deafening. To compensate for that, rymskas have specially built muscles in their ears that they can use with slight movements, lower or increase their hearing. They can at will turn completely deaf or have so sensitive hearing that they can almost literally hear the grass grow.

Rymskas are also surprisingly great jumpers, the record are whole three-four meters up. This is because of some special bone structure in their knees and lower legs. Because of this, it’s very hard for a rymska to break his or her leg and be treated in an alien hospital.

Rymskas have also the second best sense of smell among creatures of the universe (only varjans have a greater sense of smell.)

General Info: Rymskas are the most populous Rytona race, they are just under 10% of the Rytona society (that’s a lot compared to that are twenty Rytona races). And pretty much present in every town and city. They are the most social Rytonas (and some say, the friendliest) and have very strong loyalties towards their family. Also due to their number Rytonas don’t say, “Breed like rabbits.” They say, “Breed like rymskas.”

The rymskas have the most complex family system of the Rytonas and they tend not to try explaining it. For many outsiders it almost sounds tyrannical, allowing the eldest family member to rule the younger ones. But the rymskas claim it’s actually very beneficial and not at all a bad system, most of the time this power is purely ceremonial and most elders of the family don’t express their authority very much.

Although rymskas, like most humanoid species, can have children the year round, they are the only Rytonas to have a specific mating period, Gjarkera. It happens roughly in the last two weeks of September and first two weeks of October by our calendar and it is probably the only time rymskas are seldom seen.

What happens is that both sexes become very driven to mate and in fact will be in pain if they don’t. This is due to built up of a lot of stress and it is relieved through mating. Due to this, young marriages are very common place among rymskas, as Gjarkera normally occurs for the first time for 16 years old rymskas. Some have it later, but no older than 18-19.

That is not all that happens, during this period, the males become very submissive and their face literally changes, their muzzle shrinks and eyes widen, making them more puppy like. The females on the other hand become very aggressive and their facial expression sharpens.

The older the rymska is though the shorter the Gjarkera period is. The elder rymskas usually are only two days, while the younger ones must endure it for the whole four weeks.

Some rymskas are lucky, there is a gene that is slowly passing through the population that pretty much cancels the Gjarkera period. These rymskas do not undergo this period at all. They are very often referred to as the lucky ones, but even so they are very quiet about it and do not admit it openly. For many of those, the reason is that they don’t want to be sought after as mates, simply because they happen to have the lucky gene to pass it to the children.

Mating and family aside, rymskas often referred to as the third best dancers among Rytonas (the umskas and the agras are said to be their only superiors). Also rymskas claim you haven’t heard a real song until you hear it sung from the mouth of a female rymska. (Whether that is true or not is open for debate.)

Due to their friendly nature, rymskas are most often used to introduce aliens to the Rytona’s dimension. Especially humans, since emotionally and socially they are the most alike them (something rymskas actually happily admit for some reason or another).
